Loving Alive

I'm on an "alive" kick, so bear (bare?) with me if it seems I'm flogging a dead horse in recent posts. It just feels great to be coming alive. It seems like it should be an exaggeration to say that most of my life has been lived to please the eyes of constant witnesses, but it feels true to me. Now I'm becoming at home with my own eyes. Carla, meet Carla. She's pretty wonderful, created to be just that, just you. On par with any other creation. Full of life, potential, intentional dreams. It's true for each one of you out there as well.
I recently watched Seabiscuit and really really loved it. Thanks to Walmart who was selling the dvd for $5 (and special edition even!) So, this may sound cheesy and you're allowed to chuckle if it pleases you to do so. But I think all of us have this race horse inside of us. This being created to do something, created with this innate sense of what that is and how to do it and love it. It's natural. But also vulnerable and easily misunderstood or not understood at all. Some of us need to actually learn what it looks like or feels like. And then this other part of us needs to grab the reigns and do the work of training, of listening, of giving guidance at the right times. The inner horse and the inner jockey... It's like cultivating a relationship with yourself... Not for the purposes of being a loner, but in order to then be able to have relationship with others as well, and to give of yourself from the real "you".
It feels great to be coming alive. It's taking me awhile, but it's worth the slow journey.

Nice to meet you Lynntie! At first I thought you were my cousin Lynnette. :) It's always cool to meet new friends from all over the world in blogging.
