New things every day!

This week I get to be a fill-in-mom to four kids whose parents are enjoying a much deserved Mexican vacation. :) It's actually pretty fun. And I'm learning some very helpful things. For example, something I never knew- young William informs me that vegetarians are usually red-heads- incredible! Other things I'm learning~ telling someone something once, even when returned with a "Oh yeah, sure!" does not guarantee that words have actually been heard and understood and will be followed with action (my whole grasp on communication is under re-construction.) All you have to do to fit a huge sandwich into a little sandwich box is bend up the edges. It's okay to wear the same shirt two days in a row. And already after this short time, no one can convince me that there is no such thing as a pecking order. This phenomenon is alive and well (well, maybe not well, but alive...) :)

Here's a little bedtime poem for you:

"There was an old man from Peru
Who dreamed he was eating his shoe.
He woke in a fright
In the middle of the night
And found it was perfectly true."

Sweet dreams! I'm sure I'll have many more new things to pass on by the end of the week...
