Kids Part 2

My week as a fill-in mom has come to an end. They were the best of times, they were the worst of times... Okay, there really weren't any worst of times, but the phrase helps to heighten the drama. I did learn a few other tidbits, golden kernels of knowledge, that I'll pass on to pay homage to my week.
Kids can be quite independent. These kids could cook for themselves, put themselves to bed, do their own laundry, and they all knew how to vacuum! Amazing! The youngest of them was still in training when it came to cleaning the bathroom. I think it was messier after he was finished then when he began. I checked it out and noticed the hand towel on the floor in one corner. "How did you clean the floor with the towel there?" I asked. "Oh, I just didn't go past this line," he said, indicating with his hand an imaginary line running in front of the towel. Speaking of towels, did you know that it's perfectly fine to wipe off your mouth with the hand/dish towel hanging in the kitchen? I may start trying this at home. :) It's also not necessary to wash your face every day. Leaving juice stains on your mouth from the day before is like wearing a badge of honor. The "worst" part of my week was probably having to watch "The Notebook"- it was neat that one of the kids wanted to watch it with me, but I almost needed a barf bag (sorry to any Notebook fans out there). I also got to learn how to play 007 on gamecube, enjoyed some amazing homemade caramel popcorn, got stranded in my car with the boys when I couldn't make it back up a snowy hill (had to be rescued by the neighbours), and learned just how much stuff you can actually put down a garburator.
It was a really good week and I was blessed to be able to get to know all of them and have some fun. I'm not sure I could handle four kids of my own someday... Maybe I'll take some training courses from their mom first. :)

Ohhh the joys!!! Sure sounds like you had an exciting week. Yesterday Katie made us take more notice that she is no longer a baby, when Aaron and I were sitting downstairs while we "thought" Katie was napping, only to hear a loud thud. We ran upstairs and found that katie had jumped out of her crib and thought it would be fun to play with her toys instead. She was just standing there staring at us when we walked into her room, looking at us as if "what's the big deal". So we may need to put her into a bed now. sniff, sniff....

Dearest Carla, In case there is no other man that says Happy Valentines day to you, here is the corniest video I saw on Mel's blog today. It made her feel better, so maybe I can pass it on to you?!?!
By the way, any other single man that doesn't wish you the happiest Valentines Day ever, is just plain dumb. I LOVE YOU!!! You are the greatest, hottest, most beautiful, sincere woman EVER!!! Happy Valentines Day.
