After a crazy weekend full of good things (Christmas parties, hanging out with my two favorite little boys, worship leading at church, my students' Christmas recital) I am burnt out. Especially after lugging one hundred stupid heavy chairs around the piano recital venue, all by myself, along with the grand piano and its wobbly legs (thanks to my own procrastination, this was the only venue I could book late in the game...). I am home partaking in a beer and sifting through Christmas music so as to put together a fun game for my piano students this week (and giving myself a lovely chance to just have fun with them and give them candy for being good music listeners). I also just hung up the phone with my "sister" Heather, the person I call most often when I'm on the verge of wanting to pour myself a bath and stay there for the rest of my life. At one point in our conversation, she reminded me that "putting on the garment of praise" is something we usually have to choose to do. So you know, even though my brain is half-fried, I will praise the Love who carries me through the dark moments when I feel I'm going nowhere, the one who gives me friendship and people who care about me, the one who lets me sleep and eat. And have hot baths. And the White Stripes. And white chocolate cranberry cookies. And cranberries. And hairdressers named Wendy. And my car with no shocks. And Christmas trees. And Rooibos tea. And Christmas presents. And the stars in the sky. And cheese.

I will always be there for you my dearest!! It is so amazing how much we really put on ourselves. It is so easy to get burnt out!! Take a bath and rest!! I am glad you are about to start your holidays! Yeah for Christmas!!
Love, Heather
ok, why can't I EVER post on this without having to go anonymous?!? It doesn't let me do it any other way. Help!! -Heather
Dear Anonymous,
You call yourself Heather but I'm not sure I believe you as blogger is telling me that you're Anonymous. You could really be anyone in the world who read my blog and then signed yourself Heather... I would ask you to tell me some secret only you and I know but this could be embarassing online... So I guess I'll just trust that you ARE Heather. :):) I love you too and I am going to take your advice about that bath...
